Tank Storage

Location & Position

The location and position of your tank is important for storage. Do not store your tank in your house, or in an enclosed area like a shed or garage. Also make sure that they are kept away from basement windows so that in the case of a leak, it won’t get inside your home. Storing your tank outside is the best option.

Your tank doesn’t need to be covered, however, storing your tank in a shaded area is best. They should not be exposed to or reach temperatures above 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This can cause the pressure inside your tank to rise. Keeping your tank outside in winter is safe, but keeping it raised off the ground can help prevent rusting.
